Veterans Day is this Sunday, November 11th.  I am so grateful to our nation’s Veterans. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.  Below is a list of local events and discounts:

Events

Veterans Day Parade, Marietta — The 14th annual Marietta Veterans Day Parade takes place on Saturday, November 10, 2018. The parade begins at 11 am.

Veterans Day Candle Light Ceremony, Woodstock –-Are hosting a candlelight ceremony on November 11th, at 7:00 pm.

Veterans Day Ceremony, Acworth — Join the City of Acworth on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2 pm at Patriots Point at Cauble Park, home of the Veterans Memorial to honor our nation’s veterans.

Veterans Day Parade, Dallas In 2018 the Veterans Day parade will be in downtown Dallas. It will be on Mondat, November 12th, with massing of the colors and the 11th hour (11:00 AM) ceremony in front of City Hall.

Sandy Springs Veterans Day Tribute — The community is invited to the City’s annual Veteran’s Day Tribute on Friday, November 9, 2018 beginning at 11:30 a.m. on the City Green.

Freedom Ball — The Georgia Veterans Day Association Inc. hosts the 2017 Freedom Ball, starting at 6 pm on November 10th in the Oceans Ballroom at Georgia Aquarium, 225 Baker St. NW.

Kennesaw Military Luncheon —The City of Kennesaw will honor the service of military members past and present with a complimentary lunch on November 9 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive. Info: Kennesaw Parks and Recreation at 770-422-9714.

Gwinnett Veterans Day Ceremony— Gwinnett County’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony will celebrate military veterans and public service personnel on November 11th at 1:30 pm at the Fallen Heroes Memorial, Gwinnett Justice & Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville 30046.

Stockbridge Veterans Recognition Luncheon. — One-mile parade begins on November 9th at 10 a.m. beginning at the Municipal Courthouse at 4602 N. Henry Blvd. followed by veterans’ recognition luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Merle Manders Conference Center, 111 Davis Road.

54th Street Grill November 11, Free meal, up to $12 value.

Applebee’s — Veterans and active duty military receive a free meal from a limited menu at participating Applebee’s on November 11th. Dine-in only. Visit the Applebee’s website for details.

Back Yard Burgers –On November 11th, active duty service members and veterans get a free Back Yard Classic Burger.

Bar Louie – From open to close on Sunday, November 11, every Bar Louie throughout the country will offer veterans and military personnel a free burger or flatbread up to a $15 value when they show a valid military I.D. Click here for details.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse — On Sunday, November 11, all military members who dine-in restaurant receive a complimentary entree up to $12.95 plus a free Dr Pepper beverage by presenting a military ID or proof of service at any BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse location nationwide. Chevys Fresh Mex — Chevys Fresh Mex will thank our men and women in uniform by offering all military personnel, past and present, a complimentary meal on Veterans Day. On Sunday, November 11, veterans and current service members will be served a meal free of charge from a select menu at any time from 3 pm until closing time with a valid ID. Dunkin’ Donuts — On Sunday, November 11, at participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide, veterans and active duty military are eligible to receive a free donut of their choice with no purchase necessary. Click here for details.

Eat’n Park– All active and former United States military personnel and their families will receive a special 10% discount for the entire month of November at all Eat’n Park Restaurants in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. The discount applies to all meals on the active or former military personnel’s check. The veterans discount ends November 30, 2018. Click herefor more details.

Famous Dave’s — On Sunday, November 11 and Monday, November 12 in honor of Veterans Day, Famous Dave’s is offering all former and current military personnel a FREE 2 Meat Salute.  Click here for details.

Golden Corral — Golden Corral Restaurants’ Military Appreciation Night free dinner will be available on Monday, November 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The dinner honors any person who has served in the US Military (retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves). Kings Family RestaurantMonday, November 12, Kings Family Restaurant will be celebrating Veterans Day with a free meal for all veterans and active military members. Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant — Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant, located in Downtown Summerlin, will salute Veterans Day with a 25% discount for active-duty military and veterans, available all day on Sunday, November 11. Wienerschnitzel — Wienerschnitzel is honoring veterans and active duty military this Veterans Day, November 11, with a free Chili Dog, small fries and a 20 oz. drink. This special offer is valid only at participating Wienerschnitzel restaurants nationwide. To receive the free meal, guests need to present a valid military or veteran ID card or wear their military uniform. Wild Wing Cafe — Veterans eat for free all day on November 11 at participating Wild Wing Cafes. Dine in only from select items. Beverages and gratuity not included. Veterans please show proof of military service. Proof of service includes: U.S. Uniformed Services ID Card, U.S. Uniformed Services Retired ID Card, veterans organization card (ie: American Legion, VFW), photograph of yourself in uniform, citation or commendation. Veterans Day Travel & Recreation Discounts

9/11 Memorial and Museum — Veterans will receive free Museum admission as well as half price museum tickets for up to two family members from November 7 to 11.

Aquarium of the Pacific — Veterans and military personnel get free admission on November 11.

Birmingham Zoo — Veterans, active and retired military and their dependents will receive free admission on November 11 and 12.

Boston Bruins — In conjunction with Military Appreciation Night on November 5, all military will receive a 20% off discount at the ProShop and all GameDay ProShop locations.

Boston Duck Tours — Veterans and active military ride free from November 12 – 16. Dependents ride for $10 per person (plus 5% CCF surcharge).

Brides Across America — Registrations required. Brides Across America, a
non-profit organization, provides eligible military brides with a free wedding dress.

Colonial Williamsburg — Military families can receive a free admission ticket during Veterans Day weekend.

Fernbank Museum – In honor Veterans Day, Fernbank Museum invites veterans to enjoy FREE* general museum admission when presenting a valid military ID at Fernbank’s Box Office on Saturday, November 10 and Sunday, November 11. Regular admission rates will apply to family members and other guests.

Georgia Aquarium – November 11, 2018 FREE* General Admission for active and former military members and 30% OFF* for their family members on Veterans Day courtesy of The Home Depot Foundation.

Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden — Veterans get free admission on November 11.

Harley-Davidson Museum — On November 9-11, Harley-Davidson Museum will offer free Museum entry for all active Military, Veterans and their families. Free entry with valid Military or Veterans ID for 1 additional adult and up to 4 children 18 years old or younger.  Visit the Harley-Davidson Museum website for details.

Killington Resort — Active duty, retired and honorably discharged members of the military ski for free on November 11.

Knott’s Berry Farm — Active duty military and veterans receive free admission for themselves and 1 guest from November 1 – 15 and November 26 – December 21. Additional discounted tickets may be purchased at the ticket booth.

LEGOLAND Florida – From November 1 to 30, all veterans and active duty military can receive free admission. Veterans also can purchase theme park tickets for up to six guests at a 50% discount on the same dates.

Mariners’ Museum — Active duty and retired military, veterans, and their immediate families get free admission on November 11.

“Mickey: The True Original” — This 16,000 sq ft immersive pop up exhibition opens in NYC on November 8, open through February in celebration of Mickey Mouse’s 90th Anniversary. On November 11, veterans and active duty military can attend the exhibition free of charge, in addition to a few friends and family of theirs.

Montpelier — Veterans get free House tours November 9 – 11. Veterans also receive a 10% discount on any purchase at the Museum Shop.

Monticello — Veterans get complimentary admission November 10 – 12.

Mount Vernon — All active duty, former, or retired military personnel are admitted for free on November 11.

National Parks — On November 11, veterans will have access to over 100 National Parks that require entrance fees for free.

National WWI Museum and Memorial — Admission is free for veterans and active duty military personnel November 9-11.

New Mexico Museum of Space History — Veterans get free admission on November 11.

Newseum — Veterans and active duty members of the military plus one guest get free admission on November 10 and 11.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium — On November 10, 11, and 12, active duty service members and veterans receive free admission. Immediate family members will receive half-off general admission.

Pro Football Hall of Fame — Throughout the month of November, all veterans and active military plus one guest get free museum admission and parking.

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden — All military veterans, who have served or are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, will receive free admission on November 11.

Six Flags Theme Park – The park will be hosting Military Appreciation Days on Veterans Day Weekend, November 10 and 11. During this weekend, there will be complimentary admission for current (active) military members and up to three dependents. If a military service member is currently deployed during this day, a spouse and up to three dependents can receive complimentary admission with a current military ID card. Active service members can purchase an unlimited amount of additional tickets for family members or friends for 50% off plus tax per ticket.

Westgate Resorts — Westgate Resorts are honoring our U.S. military personnel and their families by giving away free vacations. On November 9, they will open up registration for the event that will be held in May 2019.

Woodland Park Zoo — Active, retired, and veteran military personnel and their spouses get free admission on November 11.

World of Coca-Cola — Active duty, reserves and retirees get free admission year-round, and November 1 through November 11, members of the Armed Forces may also purchase up to four half-price general admission tickets for their friends and family.
