Home Town Honey is family owned and a provider of pure, raw honey and honey products in Georgia. Brian Higgins and his son is Branden have been beekeepers since 1992. This family owned business started out as a hobby for their own farming needs. The business grew to its now 5 bee yards. Home Town Honey is in Kennesaw, Acworth, Woodstock, Marietta, and Cartersville.
Beekeeping has been a great learning experience for his son, Branden, who has been involved in it since he was nine years old. He enjoys assisting with seminars and answering questions about bees. Branden entered several honey judging contests and has won several ribbons. In 1998, Branden won the Junior Beekeeper of the Year Award from the Georgia State Beekeeper’s Association. They would love to see more children learn about the hobby of Beekeeping.
In 2016 Home Town Honey won first place in the country, at the ABF (American Beekeepers Federation) national convention with their wildflower honey. The Buyer with Bed Bath & Beyond picked them up in there 42 stores throughout Georgia. They are also in several of the Atlanta Ace Hardware stores. They sell to over 115 stores and locations. You can find their products seasonally at the local farmers markets or anytime online.
Home Town Honey has been active members of the Georgia State Beekeepers Association since 1995 and support UGA’S bee research lab. They enjoy speaking at educational events – because saving the bees is more crucial than ever.
